Heroes come in many forms. During and after the Holocaust, while the world bore witness to atrocities executed by the most depraved and villainous of men, there were also many glimpses of dazzling acts of courage and beauty, performed by the most heroic among us.

There were heroes who risked their lives to alert the world to the genocide taking place in Europe; others, who fought against the indifference of governmental agencies and “the establishment.” Some felt it their duty to bring justice to Nazi perpetrators; others, to stand up against Holocaust deniers.
