True to life characters, real life situations and emotions you can practically touch… R. Newton does it again with a brilliantly written work of art.
Samuel Gluckstadt –
Well, Rachel Newton has done it again! No need to save our old copies, tattered from multiple reads! It’s all here in one place with a new story to boot. Finished the book from cover to cover without coming up for air. And now I’m ready to enjoy reading it again following all the twists and turns as I avoid those fault lines.

Thank you for a FANTASTIC read!!!
I’m a big library fan, but there are some books I want to own because I know I’ll enjoy reading it over and over. This is one such book!
I remember all these stories from Mishpacha, and was SO excited to get my hands on this book. Each story gets you sucked in the way a novel would and more than once I just wished the story would go on and on.
Can’t recommend this book enough!
(And…Rachel Newton – can you please put out a full-length novel??)

I just finished reading Rachel Newton’s new book of short stories for the second time, and it was just as captivating as the first. The first time, I couldn’t stop—I flew through each story, loving how each one tackled a fresh, relevant topic. These aren’t your typical magazine short stories; they’re thoughtful and unique.
On my second read, I also appreciated how R. Newton brings her characters to life with distinct personalities and feelings, paired with engaging plots. This collection is perfect for anyone who wants the excitement of a novel in a shorter, more digestible form. Highly recommended! I will be waiting for the next book….

“Fault Lines” is a stunning and thought-provoking novel that brilliantly explores the fragile connections between family, love, and the choices we make. Rachel Newton has woven a rich tapestry of emotions, immersing readers in a narrative that is both gripping and deeply resonant.
The story follows the lives of its characters as they navigate personal and collective crises, revealing the fault lines that lie beneath the surface of their seemingly perfect lives. Newton’s prose is beautifully crafted, capturing the nuances of each character’s struggle with authenticity and depth. Her ability to create such vivid, relatable characters makes it impossible not to become invested in their journeys.
What sets “Fault Lines” apart is its exploration of themes like forgiveness, resilience, and the complexity of human relationships. Newton deftly balances moments of tension with heartfelt introspection, keeping the reader engaged from start to finish. The plot unfolds with a perfect blend of suspense and emotional weight, with twists that will leave you breathless.
I was particularly struck by the book’s exploration of how the past shapes our present, making it a poignant reflection on the choices we face. Newton has an extraordinary talent for making the reader feel the characters’ pain and triumphs as if they were their own.
Overall, “Fault Lines” is a remarkable achievement that showcases Rachel Newton’s exceptional storytelling ability. It’s a powerful, moving read that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a novel that will linger in their thoughts long after the last page. Don’t miss this gem!
